Booj: A raven, and Drallah Wehr’s best friend. Like the rest of the ravens of Ehm, Booj can speak with humans and others in their own language. Drallah and her parents rescued him from a petty sorcerer who would have enslaved Booj with a magic oath of service.

Ainathuai: (pronounced ‘i-ne-thwi) The Girl Queen of the human people known as Ashaws. Her parents have died, leaving her to rule the wide land of Ashawda. She is wise enough to recognize she is too young to rule alone, however, and allows her cousin Nemoor to guide her decisions.
General Fienoth: A human from the country of Ringune, far across the Sea. He is a commander of the soldiers known as the Graycloaks, a follower of the sorcerer Egode Vallow, and a veteran of many campaigns in the Ringish struggle to conquer the region. He wears a simple gray cloak like all his men, but is easily recognized by his reptile-skull helmet. To the yugs he is known as Vank-mul, which means “cunning bear.”
The Otguk: The giant frog demon of Migdowsh. Since the days of his first appearance in the Great Swamp generations ago, the Otguk has made that already forbidding place a land of terror. He has hunted the Brawbwarb, the truan people he once was a part of, almost to extinction. A few survive, hiding from the Otguk in their ancient cities beneath Migdowsh. The Brawbwarb call him Zaw, which is a name for death.

Yugs: Created in ancient days by the malevolent Other Twin, yugs are a race of killers and thieves. Though their green skin would indicate they somehow share a common ancestry with plants, yugs are no less cruel to green growing things than they are to all other forms of life. They dwell in holes and caves, usually in lands inhospitable to other races.
Woogans: A race of mountain dwellers, the average adult woogan is about four feet tall. Woogans are masterful stone workers and carve their homes out of mountainsides and cliffs.
